Lady Fatima Umm ul-Banin was the noble wife of Imam Ali (A') and the mother of al-Abbas the Flag Bearer of the Imam Hussain at the battlefield of Karbala. The meaning of 'Ummul Baneen' is 'Mother of Sons'. All of her sons were martyred along with Imam Hussain at Karbala. Hadrat Fatima Ummul-Baneen died on 13th Jamadi al-Thani, 64 A.H. in the holy city of Madinah and was buried in the famous Baqi cemetery.

During World War I, Mirza Kuchak Khan formed the Jangal Movement in Gilan to resist increasing Russian and British influence.
